....sports commentator, writer, after-dinner speaker and Master of Ceremonies, is well known to enthusiasts in the North West for his coverage of Lancashire cricket matches for BBC GMR, Radio Lancashire, Radio Merseyside and TV’s NorthWest Tonight.He spent fourteen seasons following the fortunes of the Red Rose men,including several Lord's finals and,even though he no longer commentates on cricket,it remains his favourite sport. John is also addicted to football and he is a regular contributor to Sky Sports' Gillette Soccer Saturday programme.He often covers rugby and he has commentated on bowls,speedway,greyhound racing and even clay shooting. However,he is best known these days for his darts commentary on the big tournaments which appear on Sky where,for the last 15 years,he has shared the commentary box with the legendary Sid Waddell and Dave Lanning.
